Nanotrap® Urine Antigen Testing
A non-invasive breakthrough in 2026 is the Lyme Borrelia Nanotrap® Urine Antigen Test.
OspA Detection: This test looks for the Outer Surface Protein A (OspA) of the bacteria excreted in urine.
Concentration Technology: It uses a "nanotrap" particle to capture and concentrate the protein, making it detectable even at very low levels, providing a viable alternative for patients where blood draws are difficult or inconclusive.
